The Northwinds has produced its first couple! Trumpeter Chris Heil and clarinetist Jamie Hardesty were engaged to be married on December 21st.

September 1st, 2006

Jamie Hardesty, clarinetist, received her Master of Arts in Education - Music from Truman State University. She is now the Band Director at Mid-Buchanan R-V Public Schools.

Erin Hardesty, Flautist, received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Exercise Science from
Missouri Western State University and is employed as a personal trainer for 24 Hour Fitness.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT

We are pleased to announce that Greg Kearns, PharmD, PhD, FCP has accepted the position of Chairman, Pediatric Medical Research at Children's Mercy Hospital. He will also be the Marion Merrell Dow/Missouri Chair in Pediatric Medical Research at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.

Dr. Kearns has been at Children's Mercy Hospital for almost 11 years and formerly held the Marion Merrell Dow/Missouri Chair in Pediatric Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, and Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy.

Dr. Kearns will continue his role as Division Chief for Pediatric Pharmacology and Medical Toxicology until a replacement is found. The search for a replacement will begin immediately.

Please congratulate Dr. Kearns on his new challenges and opportunities.
